Memorymoog MIDI Update
(Info. from
Eric Frampton)
This update is Memorymoog
Plus only.
It's sold by Fred
McNiff and, if I remember right, was about $200US, installation
not included
(only moderate difficulty, if you're a hard-core DIY'er).
It's called the dBM Memorymoog MIDI Update.
It adds:
front panel midi channel selection (channel 1-9, or omni)
midi receive of :
pitch bend, sustain pedal (#64), and the sustain (release)
pedal now switches
between programmed Release value and maximum, not 0 to programmed
value.
modulation wheel (#1)
pedal controller (#4)
volume (#7)
It removes the security
code and the sequencer. (big loss...<grin>)
I installed this mod in
my machine, and functionally it's an inexpensive
compromise between a stock Plus and a full-blown Linntronic
upgrade, that
doesn't require much mangling of the guts of a machine,
just some new EPROMS
and a bunch of jumpers. Oh, and one solder trace that has
to be cut.
Also, according to the dBM
documentation,
apparently the last firmware version for the Plus was 4.1.
It's not up Fred's Web,
'cause he hasn't updated that site for years.
You have to email or call and ask him for it.
Thanks to Eric Frampton
